Made close to home
Wherever we can, they’re milled, bound and finished by small UK and European workshops — a family bindery in Dorset, paper milled in Cumbria. Short supply chains and named regions, not anonymous factories.
Rescued materials
Pressed from waste that would otherwise be burned or buried — coffee cups, offcuts, spent grounds — given a second, more useful life.
Made to keep
Sewn bindings that lie flat and hold, covers that soften rather than fray. A notebook you’ll refill a shelf with, not bin in January.
Kind at the end
When it’s full, it composts or recycles cleanly. No plastic laminate, no mixed materials that can’t be parted.
Two rescued materials, one notebook
Every notebook in the range is built from two waste streams that meet at the fold — one inside, one out.
Recycled coffee-cup paper
The thin lining that makes a takeaway cup waterproof also makes it near-impossible to recycle the usual way. We rescue it, strip it back, and press it into a smooth, forgiving writing paper that takes ink without bleeding.
A second rescued stream
The cover is pressed from a different waste depending on the range — repurposed food packaging, textile offcuts or spent brewing grain — so no two collections carry quite the same grain or colour.
